Xpanner has introduced the X1 Panel Lift, an intelligent, excavator-based solution designed to automate repetitive panel handling on utility-scale solar projects. Building on Xpanner’s experience in solar piling automation, X1 extends automation to panel lifting and placement, allowing installation crews to focus on higher-value tasks such as panel alignment, fastening and quality control.
The X1 Panel Lift combines panel transport, pickup, lifting and placement into a single excavator-based workflow, eliminating the need for separate feeder equipment such as compact track loaders or forklifts. Its one-button automated workflow guides operators through the installation sequence, while automated vacuum handling and assisted panel positioning help deliver consistent placement across cycles. The system keeps the operator in control while reducing the equipment and specialized roles required for panel installation.
Powered by Xpanner’s proprietary Mango automation controller, X1 combines LiDAR, vision and GNSS data to support real-time decision-making and precision control in changing field conditions. The same automation architecture is designed to extend to additional construction workflows over time, while Xpanner Connect provides project managers with real-time visibility into machine status, production progress and fleet activity. X1 is offered through an all-inclusive subscription model that includes the automation kit, software and field operations support.
